Will my Ceramic Coating crack, peel, or yellow?
No, your ceramic coating will not crack, peel, or yellow. All of the products we use have undergone real world testing by the manufactuer and Drive by Detail. We don't apply products on customers cars we would't apply on our own.
Will a Ceramic Coating protect my car from scratches?
Yes, to a degree. Ceramic Coatings are 2-3 times harder than paint, so they will help protect aginst light scratches and swirl marks. However, ceramic coatings cannot prevent all scratches, but your coating will be more reistant than your clearcoat.
What does the process look like?
We begin with our luxurious wash and decontamination process. Then, we have a look around the vehicle and identify any problem areas that need to be touched-up before the coating can be applied. Next, we preform a one-step polish to remove lighkt to moderate scratches and swirl marks. Then, we use an IPA wipedown or paint-prep wipedown to ensure you paint is free from any oils or polishing residue. Finally, we jump into the application of the coating. We meticulously apply your coating using brand new applicators and brand new microfiber towels. Once the coating has been applied, we will do a final inspections to ensure your vehicle looks the best it can!
How long will it take?
This will depend on the condition of your vehicles paint, the size of the vehicle, and the type of coating you get. Usually, we start and finsh coatings on the same day, but it may take longer. If you would like an exact time, please reach out to us.
Can a ceramic coating be applied over scratches?
Yes and no. It is best to remove all scratches and swirl marks before applying a coating, but not every client wants perfect paint and perfect paint does not always fit into the budget. Which is why we include a one-step polish with all of our coatings. This polish removes light to moderate scratches and prepares the paint for proper bonding of the ceramic coating. This solution achieves the surface needed for a long-lasting bond between the coating and the paint as well as keeping our clients best interests in mind.
